In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the condensed milk, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir the mixture continuously.
Make sure the heat is medium so the mixture doesn\'t burn. Stir constantly to avoid sticking.
Cook the mixture for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly until it thickens. It should start to come away from the sides of the pan and form a smooth, sticky consistency.
If you want to check the consistency, place a spoonful of the mixture on a cold plate. It should form a soft ball when cooled.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes. Then, add the caramel syrup and mix well.
The caramel adds a rich sweetness to the brigadeiro and helps with the smooth texture.
Once the mixture is cool enough to handle, grease your hands with a little butter and roll the mixture into small balls.
If the mixture is too sticky, you can add a little more cocoa powder to make it easier to handle.
Roll the balls in chocolate sprinkles until completely coated.
If you don\'t have chocolate sprinkles, you can also roll the brigadeiro in crushed nuts or coconut flakes for added texture.
Place the brigadeiro balls on a plate and let them cool completely before serving.
Letting them cool makes them firmer and easier to serve.
